Privacy & Data Practices
Plain-language transparency regarding how commercial data is secured, stored, and isolated on Tanom.
1. Minimal Data Collection Principle
Tanom collects only the data necessary to facilitate commercial trade between agricultural producers and food businesses. We do not sell user data, run third-party advertising trackers, or profile user browsing behaviors.
2. Authentication & Identity Security
User authentication is managed securely by Clerk using OpenID Connect (OIDC). User passwords and credentials are encrypted and handled exclusively by Clerk; they never touch Tanom application databases. All session tokens are cryptographically verified.
3. Multi-Tenant Row-Level Security (RLS)
Every business on Tanom operates in a dedicated tenant space defined by their organization identifier (org_id). Database access is strictly governed by Postgres Row-Level Security policies. A business cannot read, modify, or query another business's private carts, uncompleted orders, internal inventory movements, or private messages.
4. Cookies & Storage
Tanom utilizes only strictly essential first-party cookies necessary for authentication, session maintenance, and theme preferences (light/dark mode). We do not employ analytics pixels or tracking beacons.
5. Academic Demonstration Notice
Tanom Marketplace operates as an academic software demonstration. Demo cast accounts, sample order histories, and verified producer profiles exist to simulate realistic trading operations in Butuan City and the Caraga Region.
